Borne of Fire Cabernet Sauvignon Washington Red Wine, 750 ml - 750 Millilitre , $22.98

Forged by fire, crafted by hand. Borne of Fire takes a hands-off approach to winemaking to highlight the inherent characteristics of the region from which our grapes grow, "The Burn" of Columbia Valley. From a rugged terrain where agriculture was scarce to where present Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes grow mighty, Borne of Fire plows ahead and defies the odds. "The Burn" earned its name after the annual blazes set upon its fields by early agricultural settlers. As a nod to its namesake, we set one final, commemorative burn to the land before our grapes took root. With smooth tannins the wine has flavors of plum, white pepper, and carpaccio. A raspberry tea inflected finish rounds out the overall experience.

Castle Rock Pinot Noir, Mendocino County, 2006 - 750 Millilitre , $11.98

Our Castle Rock Pinot Noir was produced from grapes grown in Northern California's beautiful Mendocino County, where vineyards were first planted in the early 1860's. Here, the headwaters of the Russian River carve a fertile and rugged landscape. The warm summers, cool springs, crisp falls and wet winters make ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir grapes, in a climate similar to that of the burgundy region of France, where the grapes were first established. This elegant and medium bodied wine has delicate aromas of violet and rose petals, complex flavors and long silky textures, with layers of strawberry and raspberry leading into a long refined finish. Caymus-Suisin Grand Durif, Suisun Valley, California - 750 Millilitre , $57.98

The super-rich Petite Sirah (also known as Durif) has been widely respected in California dating back to the 1800's. The variety contributed importantly to our state's evolution in creating great wines and was often the favored choice of many home winemakers. The term Petasarah grew to life, with the wine rich in substance - mouth-filling, opaquely dark, and retaining significant bitterness. With this important memory of yesteryear in mind, Gran Durif is an updated version - a round, eminently rich and fruit-driven table wine without the customary bitterness. The harvesting of our grapes takes place late in the growing season and is the center point of this wine's ripe style. The little-known but exceptional Suisan Valley is the grape source. Dry farmed young wines are highly responsible for Grand Durif, as well as Caymus fermentation techniques and barrel aging in French oak. The sum of these practices produces a newly fashioned Petasarah. Suisun (su-soon), only 30 minutes Southeast of neighboring Napa Valley, shares similar climatic conditions, yet has richer soils perfectly suited to this wine, a new expression of a variety that has long been overlooked and holds potential for great enjoyment.

Chalk Hill Pinot Noir California Red Wine, 750 ml - 750 Millilitre , $22.98

Our story started in 1972 with a vision to plant grapes along the diverse terrain of Sonoma County's rolling hills. Chalk Hill Winery lies within a small AVA which bears the same name and has been producing highly acclaimed wines led by its flagship Estate Chardonnay. Meticulous attention to detail, decades of clonal research, sustainable viticulture practices and a minimalist approach to winemaking all combine to produce wines of character, richness and elegance. Perhaps no other winery captures the casual luxury of Sonoma County better than Chalk Hill Estate. Founded nearly four decades ago, this spectacular 1300-acre property features 300 acres of vineyards, wilderness areas, winery, hospitality center, culinary garden, residence, stables, equestrian pavilion, sports fields, fishing and swimming ponds, and guest houses. The winery's vineyards are thoughtfully woven through the native foliage and contoured to fit the intricate terrain. More than two-thirds of the Chalk Hill Estate remains uncultivated. The higher elevations offer stunning views of the Russian River Valley to the west and the Mayacamas Mountains to the east. Velvety and smooth, opens with pomegranate, vanilla, and earthy mushroom aromas. The palate delivers black cherry, dark chocolate, and baking spice
